Obituary for Ronald Dean Pennington

Ronald Dean Pennington, 64, of Mooresville, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, October 23rd, 2019. He was born July 20th, 1955 in Pennington Gap, Virginia to Sherman and Ruby (Robbins) Pennington. He married Daisy "Sharlene" (Cooper) Pennington on July 8, 1972. He spent most of his childhood in Camby.

Ronald is survived by his two children, Tanya (John) Payton of Mooresville and Dustin Pennington of Indianapolis; three grandchildren, Kendra, Kavan, and Logan; and two brothers, Kenneth and Roger Pennington. Ronald is preceded in death by his wife Daisy "Sharlene" (Cooper) Pennington; both of his parents; and a brother, Lonnie Pennington.

Ronald is a graduate of Mooresville High School. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a truck driver for Walmart for 18 years. There he was truck driver of the month and won several awards, including truck driver of the year. Ronald was a part of the Walmart Heart Program, Driver Mentor Program and was on the Accident Review Committee for Walmart. He also served as a store ambassador.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29th and from 9-10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 30th at Jones Crossing Banquet Center in Mooresville. Pastor Mark Wright will officiate a celebration of life service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 30th at the banquet center. Ronald will be laid to rest at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
