Obituary for Karen L. Moore (Minnick)

Karen Lynn Moore, 53 of Mooresville, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by her family on May 4, 2019. Karen was born in Indianapolis on July 9, 1965 to Ralph C. Minnick and Norma Jean Foster) Russell. She married Kenneth R. Moore on December 26, 1982. .

Karen leaves behind her husband; two children: Kaitlin (Zach) Johnson of Monrovia and Kenneth T. (Kyndal) Moore of Martinsville; mother, Norma Jean (Thomas) Russell of Mooresville;mother in law, Norma Jane Moore; grandangels: Dakota Via, Allison Moore, Laila Johnson, Atticus Johnson, Rylan Moore, Rowan Johnson and Kordyn Moore; sister, Debbie (Kevin) Loy; brothers: Ralph Dean Minnick and Bob (Carol) Minnick; nephew, Chris App and family, Devin Loy, and Brent Moore; cousins: Tammy (Duane) Tinkle and family; aunt Kay and Phillip Grider and cousin Vickie (Jim) Sizemore; cousin, Phillip Grider Jr. and family; step sister, Cheryl (Tom) Workman; step brother, Jon (Dawn) Russell; brothers in law, Bill Moore and David Moore (Dawn Steelman); niece, Leslie Moore and family; and several more cousins whom she loved dearly.

Karen is preceded in death by her daughter, Millissa Kyli Moore; father, Ralph C. Minnick; and father in law, Kenneth L. Moore.

Karen was a 1983 graduate of Mooresville High School. She loved her family and grandangels dearly. She loved cookouts and family functions. She was everyone's rock. She loved her dogs, her flowers and feeding her squirrels and birds. She loved the outdoors and spring was her favorite season. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxilliary Post #1111. She was a mother larger than life. She was known for her awesome hugs. There is no way to describe the kind of person she was.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2019 and 10-11 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019 at the Funeral Home. Karen will be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery.
