Obituary for Danny Lee Turpin
Danny Lee Turpin, 73, of Mooresville, went to be with the lord on Tuesday, November 26th, 2019. He was born July 11th, 1946 in Bedford to Wayne Turpin and Winnie (Strunk) Vansant. He was a resident of Mooresville for most of his life.
Danny is survived by his two loving children, Suzanne (Terry) Mobley of Indianapolis, and Brandon Turpin of Plainfield; four grandchildren, Victoria (Austin) Collier of Indianapolis, Amanda (William) Burnell of Richmond, Gabrielle Mobley of Indianapolis, and Falyn Turpin of Indianapolis; two great grandchildren, Chase and Hayden Collier; and one sister, Debi Burnside of Mooresville. Danny is preceded in death by both of his parents and one brother, Robert Turpin.
Danny was a 1964 graduate of Mooresville High School. Danny worked for General Motors Allison Transmission Division as a job setter for 38 years and retired in 2005. He was a member of the Mooresville Free Methodist Church in Mooresville. Danny was an avid golfer for many years, until back problems prevented him from swinging a club. He adored his dog Angel and rain or shine would take her to the park at least twice a day. Danny was honest, loving and loved his church. He also loved spending time with his family. He had a great work ethic. He also was a very involved member of Mooresville Jaycees in his younger years. He volunteered for Gleaners Food Bank and Churches in Mission.
Family and friends may show their love and support from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, December 2nd with a memorial service to be officiated by Jon Stemerick that will follow at 7 p.m. at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville.
